Explore the Bosque...
Visiting: We host
visitors who want to experience eco-tourism and learn about our
ecovillage. Depending on your interests, we will work with you to
determine a program which will benefit both you and us.
Events, Programs, and Retreats: There are classes and retreats offered at
the Bosque. Please check our calendar and let us know if you find
anything of interest.
Wwoofing and Volunteering: We host volunteers who want to learn about
permaculture and sustainability. The Bosque is located in a
wonderful area where wwoofers of all ages can be at peace with nature,
and explore local towns within walking distance. We are currently seeking two long term resident volunteers.
Activities: There is so much to do - you might want to plan a longer visit!
Testimonials: Learn what visitors have to say about their time at the Bosque.
Donations: Like the project? We accept a variety of contributions.
Membership : The Bosque is seeking like-minded folks who share
our vision. We love to hear from potential members who may want
to join us in this experience or are curious about nearby real-estate to purchase. Whether you are simply poking
around at different options or if you have a serious interest, we
welcome your questions and comments, and would love to set up a time
for you to visit!
What we offer:
We are located in a remote area in the Mexican state of Michoacan, but close by are the cities of Morelia, Uruapan and the magical town of Patzcuaro. In local towns you will find excellent crafts and artisans, great weather, native Purépecha culture, activities, adventure, relaxation, and tasty cuisine. You can incorporate a long or short visit to our farm into your other travel plans.
Our facilities include a temezcal (traditional sauna), a rustic campground with camping spaces that are either deep in our magical forest or around other travelers, five cabanas, miles of trails for hiking, birdwatching, and observing wildlife, peaceful areas for yoga and meditation, composting toilets, solar panels to provide minimal power, a small eco-resort equipped with a Casita, a solar hot water heater, and numerous gardens, a plant nursery, art studios and classes, large cisterns for water catchment, a telescope for stargazing and astronomy, fun dance parties, photography classes, a massage table, and medicinal plants.
We are involved with reforestation programs, permaculture designs, utopianism, alternatives to Burning Man, renewable and alternative energy, and sustainable living. We have restored bird and butterfly habitats, guides to traveling around this area, and retreats which offer a chance to learn about deforestation, climate change, and global warming.
We offer artist retreats, writers retreats, natural building courses (such as cob, strawbale, and adobe), wood and stone carving, ethno-botony, Day of the Dead excursions and events during Semana Santa, and much more! Visiting gives you a chance to explore Mexico, permaculture, and rural areas while being a sustainable tourist! Please enjoy exploring our website.
