Programs

We host programs, workshops, retreats, and occasionally rent part of our space for events during holidays. While some of our visitors come to the forest simply to enjoy nature and escape the city, many of our guests decide to have a structured visit. Whatever you decide you want to learn or do while you are staying with us, we hope to be able to help you as you plan your visit.

A Bosque Village eco-experience is for individuals who want to learn a bit about natural building, permaculture, and what it takes to keep the Bosque Village running smoothly.

There are teachers available for language learning at the Bosque. Language programs include beginner, intermediate and advanced lessons as well as language exchange and an amazing resource library with books and movies to help you learn.

Personal retreats offer a restful time in the forest. We do not follow any specific spirituality or doctrine, so our retreat space is open for guests to enjoy whatever personal path they are on. Whether you decide to have a yoga or meditation retreat, a craft retreat, or a writing and reflection retreat, we welcome you and will do our best to support you and help you engage in the space.

Group retreats are for three or more people who want to engage with each other as well as the forest. You are welcome to register your group for a retreat at the Bosque. We also try to gather and direct people who come here towards other guests with similar interests so that our visitors can share experiences during a Bosque retreat.

Our ongoing building workshops allow guests to learn about strawbale, cob, cobwood or adobe building without having to pay exhorbant fees that are normally charged. Whatever we are building at the time of your visit, we welcome you to get your hands dirty and build with us.

Guided tours of the Lake Pátzcuaro area offer a glimpse into the lives of local artists, farmers, and musicians as well as a chance to learn about the history, gastronomy, biodiversity, and archealogy of this region.

Classes available include photography, cooking, local crafts and more. We can arrange for you to take classes from a number of qualified teachers available around Lake Pátzcuaro.

We are designing special events for artists, writers, performers, yoga practicioners, and more. Please let us know if you'd like to get information about those events.

In the visitor application you will have the opportunity to explain your reason for visiting and what you hope your stay will entail.
