We have a large list of activites for our visitors to enjoy.

We have had guests say that the Bosque feels like Summer Camp. We hope you have fun during your stay! Our goal is to be able to assist every visitor in activities, projects, and work that is both fun and rewarding. See photos of activities here.

  • Archery
  • Astronomy - We have a telescope for viewing the moon and stars at night.
  • Badminton - We have a net and raquets to check out.
  • Birdwatching - The Bosque Village is filled with an amazing variety of birds. We have a set of binoculars available and a guide to birds of Mexico.
  • Campfires -Enjoy a campfire during the evening. Learn to make a campfire safely and perhaps do some outdoor cooking.
  • Cooking - See our classes page.
  • Crafts - Some crafts made here include oak seed necklaces, maguey pod earrings, paper, woven chairs, and tree ornaments. Come with an idea of what you want to learn, and bring supplies if necessary.
  • Dancing - We have great spaces for both movement classes and fun dance parties.
  • Devil sticks - We have sets to check out made by a recent visitor.
  • Drawing - Bring your own supplies or pay a supplies fee. Life drawing, botannical illustration, mapmaking, engineering drawing for alternative technologies - or whatever else.
  • Face and body painting - Sometimes we have visitors who bring face paint. You can also bring your own and paint other guests.
  • Fire spinning - Bring your fire spinning toys. We can provide white gas for fuel.
  • Frisbee - Available to check out.
  • Games: Fluxx, Settlers of Cataan, Chess
  • Hacky sack - Available to check out.
  • Hiking in the forest and in nearby ecological reserves.
  • Horseback riding - Rent horses in the nearby villages, and enjoy horseback riding through the mountains
  • Hula hooping - We have a bunch of hula hoops for guests to play with. We can teach you how to make your own.
  • Juggling - We have balls, clubs, and rings available to check out and instruction available
  • Language exchange - We speak English and Spanish. Our visitors have spoken French, German, Japanese, Madarin, Flemish, Dutch, Purepecha, and Portuguese. Try using only your second language!
  • Massage - We have a massage table available to check out, and often have visitors interested in giving and receiving massage.
  • Meditation - Personal or group
  • Modeling - Visiting photographers are interested in finding models to shoot. Some artists seek models for life drawing.
  • Movies - There are occasionally movies shown during the week at the Implant Movie Theater.
  • Painting - Bring your own stuff or pay a supplies fee.
  • Paper maché
  • Photography - See our photo tours for examples of photos taken here. During all months of the year, there are flowers, birds, and views to photograph. There is a resident who is sometimes available to teach photography lessons.
  • Plant propogation - Specifically in the month of June, we have lots of plant propagation to do! We welcome help. If you are here in other months, there are likely things you can do to help with plant propagation if you'd like.
  • Poi spinning - We have practice poi available to check out.
  • Pottery
  • Reading and study - Bring the book you've been wanting to read, or enjoy our extensive library.
  • Relaxing! - We have hammocks and benches throughout the forest for you to relax, meditate, or read a good book.
  • Rock stacking - Several locations have great rocks for this meditative activity. Adults are welcome to stack rocks anytime they like.
  • Running and Jogging - Several of our trails on the north end of the land were made specifically for trail running.
  • Staff spinning - Staffs are available to check out. We have a fire staff available for experienced fire spinners.
  • Tetherball - We have a tetherball court and a ball to check out.
  • Theater and Improv - Visitors often create impromtu theater performances or improvisational games.
  • Trail maintenence - Our extensive trails system is always in need of maintenence.
  • Trampoline - Not just for kids...
  • Volleyball
  • Walking - We have trails ranging from easy to moderate in difficulty for you to walk and exercise on.
  • Woodcarving - Check out our cool 27 foot totem pole carved by Beto. Classes available.
  • Yoga - We have mats, DVDs and books available for you to check out.
