The Bosque Village is home to a wide variety of beautiful birds. The Elegant Trogon is what most birders hope to see during their stay with us.

We have a birdbath located near an outdoor deck, perfect for spotting lots of birds in the mornings during the dry season. We have created several pools around the property so that water is available to the birds after the rains cease in September. In the spring, when our peach and cherry trees begin to fruit, our orchard is full of birds snacking on the sweet fruit. We continue to plant trees and plants to increase the number of birds in the forest.

A bird call and binoculars are available for visitors to check out. We also have a book to lend so guests can try to identify the birds they see.

Georgia, a local birding guide, is available for birding tours in the Bosque and around the lake. Georgia was awarded Master Birder designation from Seattle Audubon and has founded a birding club for bird enthusiasts in the Lake Pátzcuaro area. You can read more about birding in Georgia's blog.

The following birds have been identified at the Bosque.
